STYLING YOUR SOFA FOUR DIFFERENT WAYS

INTRODUCING SOFA COMPANY THE LOUNGE CO

What's the one piece of furniture you'd class as a necessity for your home? The one piece you'd be willing to invest that little bit more in and take your time choosing? For me, it would be my sofa and arm chair. These two pieces alone make my living space feel instantly inviting. However, when I first moved into my apartment and started the search for a sofa, it was overwhelming to say the least. There just seemed to be so many styles, so many places to look, which size, what fabric. The list goes on. Which is why The Lounge Co really stood out to me when their email landed in my inbox, introducing the brand.

Designed and produced in the UK, by the craftsmen behind G-Plan, Parker Knoll and Duresta no less, The Lounge Co offers a carefully curated selection of 12 sofa styles, 6 chair silhouettes and 6 footstool designs in over 110 fabric and colour choices. The fabric and colour was never an issue for me when I started my sofa hunt, but the silhouette, that's what threw me.

Comprising four stories within the collection - Casual Classics, Deep & Loungey, Contemporary and Iconic - there's a real feel of personalisation with this brand, with over 75,000 combinations of feet, fabric and style. So today, as the brand officially launches online, I thought I'd pull together some of my favourite pieces (including the beautiful Joseph pictured above) and show you how I'd style them in my home in the real world.

Thomas

A contemporary twist on a wing chair, Thomas is a modern classic. Low, deep and comfy this seat screams 1920's elegance. For this style I would add a gold mirrored side table, fresh white peonies, low hanging pendant lighting and contrasting geometric print accent cushions. I absolutely love the Art Deco feel of this chair, which I'd have in a rich velvet and brass legs.

Holly

A modern sofa range with contemporary design features such as twin-needling and gentle pulled in back cushions, I loved the retro feel of the Holly. In terms of styling it, I wanted to go against its 50s silhouette and add some modern touches such as these amazing turquoise floral print cushions, a statement copper clock and skull bell jar decorative accessory.

Phoebe

A statement in any living space, the Phoebe is an elegant and timeless shape updated in citrus hues. With classic proportions and modern tailoring details, this design is perfect for smaller spaces. I wanted to add a modern edge to this look with bold accessories such as this green glass vase (imagine this filled with pink peonies), an amazing copper lamp, and textiles such as an ombre print rug and patterned cushions in contrasting tones.

Floyd

My final choice from The Lounge Co collection has to be the amazing Floyd. Styled to sit alongside big sister Florence, Floyd makes a great statement piece in its own right. With a high back and split-lumbar support, this seat marries style and comfort perfectly. I wanted to go down a more simplistic, almost Scandi route with this design, staying within a muted colour palette. I think this might be my favourite look overall if I'm honest.

Which is your favourite piece from my styled choices above? With great prices and galleries across the UK to be able to go view your chosen piece, The Lounge Co is definitely a brand to contend with the big boys. I'd love to know what you think and if anything above catches your eye.
