BABY SHOWER AND CHRISTENING GIFT IDEAS

This last weekend was filled with babies, starting with one of my closest friend's baby shower on Saturday, followed by the Baptism of my Goddaughter, Evan, on Sunday. So with my niece Matilda also arriving, I've been on the hunt for some great baby gifts. 

First off all, my friend's sister, who was organising her baby shower, had emailed us all beforehand to ask, instead of a card, could we all buy our favourite children's book and write a little message to her baby boy inside. I picked The BFG, it was my favourite story to read and to be honest I could sit and read it now. They don't make them like Roald Dahl anymore. I just thought it was a really nice idea as the baby had a little library all ready for him when he learns to read.

I also wanted to show you this gorgeous handcrafted wooden toy set from a brand called Sarah & Bendrix first. I did a post recently showing you three ways to style your sideboard and in that post I featured a couple of prints I'd bought from the brand. Well, they don't only offer beautiful artwork, they also offer amazing little baby gift sets. 

This set included various wooden toys, and a little mini bear t-shirt. It came in a ribbon wrapped box and each toy was packaged separately inside. I wanted to give my friend something other than clothes, and she's quite traditional in some ways so I thought classic wooden toys would be ideal.

I fell in love with these toys so much, I also gave my Goddaughter a wooden pull along toy from the same brand, as well as making her a print which says "Just When The Caterpillar Thought The World Was Over, It Became A Butterfly".
