I really enjoy round-up posts so I thought I'd have a go at five things that have made me smile this week. First on this list was this beautiful flower delivery from Debenhams. Part of their Thank You Flowers range, this gorgeous bunch were called Celebration and contained kimsey germini, green carnation, white bouvardia, lisianthus, pink roses, avalanche roses and eucalyptus. They arrived in a nicely presented box, including some Guylian chocolates (which were eaten before the flowers were in a vase, no joke).
If I'm going to be completely honest, like I try to always be, when they arrived I could see that some of the flowers weren't looking as healthy as they perhaps should have been, but once I got them into water and gave some of the magic food that comes with them, they seem to perk up and they've lasted a week. I've seen some other bloggers writing about their delivery, and they all seem fine so I suspect mine were just an off bunch.
Nevertheless, you can see they still looked beautiful in my grandma's blue and white ceramic jug. and Debenhams have been kind enough to offer you guys a 40% discount on bouquets (the only one exempt from this is the Flowers by Post range) by using the code DFBLOG40.
I got this book last night as a belated birthday present from my friend Jenny. Rob Ryan for those that don't know is a British artist specialising in paper cutting and screen printing. This book is full of inspirational quotes and images which have already sparked ideas in my head for some new prints. Paper cutting is such an amazing art, and I'm going to sit tonight and properly read through this book.
Although Chi Chi London have expanded into other areas, what they do best are dresses. Pretty, elegant, party, maxi...basically, any dress you need, there will be a Chi Chi design for you. I got this dress a while ago and it's just been hanging there waiting to be taken out, but I couldn't wait any longer to show you just how beautiful it is. The Lucy Dress is a lace panelled chiffon skater dress and is beautifully made. I'm really happy the brand has started to make knee length dresses as the Verity, the Frances, the Lottie, the Rose and finally the Clara are absolutely stunning. I literally don't know which one to get next, although I suspect Clara might just beat the others to the post.
Forth on the list of things I've been loving recently is this wooden letter V from Maria Allen. A jewellery designer who specialises in wood, Allen is incredibly talented and this wooden letter is so intricate and well crafted.
I've currently got it on my window sill so when the sun shines in, the shadows make a pretty pattern on my carpet. Small things, huh? The website (visit by clicking here) has so many gems, including wooden necklaces, plectrums, USB sticks, coasters, brooches and so much more so I'd definitely recommend taking a look.
The final thing which has given me happy vibes this week is discovering She & Life, a UK lifestyle blog which I found on Friday night. Established in 2013 by Welsh blogger Ella, She & Life is just a really well written, honest, thought-provoking blog which I've found myself relating to a number of times as I sit and work my way through her back catalogue. Like Ella, the blog itself is gorgeous with great photography - a surefire way to keep me coming back for more. Have a read for yourself and see what you think.
