DISCOVERING TRIBAL TREASURES WITH THE UGANDA COLLECTION

The trend for tribal inspired interiors is at its peak right now, with organic materials, rustic finishes and printed fabrics running throughout the home. One way to incorporate this trend without packing your bags and trekking around the world is to visit TK Maxx or sister store HomeSense.

Last month saw the launch of their brand new range of unique, hand-crafted homeware sourced and made in remote communities in Western Uganda.

And while you can make your home look effortlessly stylish, you can also be safe in the knowledge you're doing some good in the world, with the collection being part of an initiative to help some of the most disadvantaged families increase their incomes so they can afford to send their children to school.

TK Maxx and HomeSense have been working in Uganda since 2008, enabling more than 10,000 children to go to school. Isn't that amazing? Since the sustainable trade project started in 2011, there has been a 40 per cent increase in children finishing primary school education - something you and I probably take for granted here in the UK right?
