A TOUR OF MY PINTEREST WORTHY DRESSING TABLE

A TOUR OF MY PINTEREST WORTHY DRESSING TABLE

One thing I've always had, even when I was in my early teens, is somewhere in my bedroom to sit down, put my warpaint on and run a brush through my barnet. I'd even go as far as to say having a dressing table is an essential part of the bedroom. No, an essential part of life. It's about just being able to sit in the morning and think about the day ahead whilst I'm getting ready, without trying to balance all my makeup in the sink, hoping my teeny tiny eyebrow pencil which has been sharpened within an inch of its life, doesn't fall down the sink.

With my dressing table looking all Pinterest-worthy and beautiful thanks to some new bits I bought at Homesense just after Christmas, I thought I'd put together a little dressing table tour. Let's start with the furniture. The table itself was a steal on Gumtree which I picked up after moving into my new flat. A girl, literally up the road, was selling it for £15 like new. Bargain.

Secondly, can we just take a moment to appreciate my amazing Hollywood mirror please? I can honestly say, since getting this, applying my makeup is so much easier. Seeing my pores is so much easier too but the less said about that the better. From Hollywood Mirrors, it has a dimmer switch and comes in a beautiful white gloss finish. The ledge at the front allows me to pop my brushes etc on for easy use and it creates a beautiful natural light so I can achieve a more subtle makeup look rather than packing on the bronzer, only to realise I've hit Donald Trump status once I'm outside in public.

As mentioned above, I love to keep everything neat and tidy, and these gold snakeskin effect metal pots from Homesense let me do just that. I absolutely love the finish on these and they look so much more expensive than £4.99 each. I also picked up a vase in a similar metal, which was £9.99. It wouldn't be my dressing table without any sort of faux floral would it.

My chair, if you're wondering, is from Made.com, which I bought with a voucher I had when I first moved in. It's a Parisian style occasion chair, with a mohair cushion on for comfort. The only thing I have to watch is, because it's black it shows up any makeup that might drop onto it, very quickly.

Finally, I like to have my essentials out ready, and seen as my copper GHD's look so damn pretty they get pride of place. I've also organised my lipsticks into the gold pot above, and have everything else laid out in the dressing table drawers ready to go. The only thing I'd like to finish this whole area off are two drawer organisers so I can separate my makeup by category and see everything I actually have instead of using the same old products time and time again.

What do you think to my dressing table set-up? Are a fan of having everything organised or are you more of an "on the move" kinda person?

  6. Oh Victoria! What a beautiful space. :)
The mirror is perfect. I'd love to have a mirror like this.. Not for pore knowledge or even makeup usage, but because it's just so perfect! lol :p
Also, if I strained my hair, I'd definitely have these on show too.. The copper collection is lovely.
I got a cheap acrylic draw set from eBay. I don't actually have that much make up, but it is nice to be able to see everything.

  10. Wow, this is such a great dressing table layout. Everything is organised beautifully and the way everything matches so well really helps to create an elegant "glamour" feel. It reminds me of an antique style dressing table, as there are so many antique bedroom ornaments that were mainly for dressing, such as beautiful scent bottles, trinket boxes and even matching tray for holding everything. You've done a great job!
