Can you believe it - 2017 is just around the corner. Which
has got the team here at Happy Beds thinking about what’s going to be ‘hot’ in home décor over the next 12
months.
But before we delve into the next ‘it’ items and get carried
away describing the décor schemes that will replace the eclectic, dark rooms of
autumn 2016 or the outside-in fabrics we saw last summer, let’s stop and think
about the basics.
What interior colours will be en vogue in 2017?
Dusky, Deep Blues
At the beginning of 2016, teal was the coolest colour to
have in your home. This year, designers are sticking with the blue theme, but
moving towards a duskier, deep blue that looks simply stunning next to crisp
white skirting boards and copper accessories. This colour will really highlight high-ceilings and make you
feel calm and tranquil, like you’re near the ocean.
Rich, Mineral Grey
Grey has got a bit of a bad reputation as being dull or
lifeless, but we think it is the underdog of shades. Grey has quickly seen
resurgence in popularity over recent months thanks to the trend of soft
industrial décor, and this is likely to continue into 2017. Painting your walls in a rich, mineral grey is sure to make
an interior design statement that you’re bang on trend and not afraid to take
décor risks. Teamed with sumptuous fabrics and a luxury bed this is a home décor
trend to die for.
Bright, Yet Soft, Yellows
When used incorrectly, yellow can be garish and hurt your
eyes, but used right it can be a bright and happy colour that instantly
brightens your mood as soon as you walk in the room.
In 2017, sunshine yellows with a powdery finish will be all
the rage. From bold floorboards to statement wall mirrors, and from accent
pillows to modern chandeliers, we’re sure you’ll love this colour this time
next year.
Dusted, Pastel Pink
Never mind Barbie, think candy floss and rose quartz when
choosing your accessories in spring 2017. This grown-up, feminine shade works
wonderfully in a light and bright room to add a subtle pop of colour where it’s
needed most. Pair it with grey and white - you won’t be disappointed.
Muted Taupe or Beige
Beige isn’t boring. This soft, calming colour can form the
ideal base tone for bringing together statement pieces and bold accents.
Alternatively, keep it tranquil with a mix of light shades for a sophisticated
and glamorous, grown-up ambience.
