Yesterday I made my way down the the NEC in Birmingham for Autumn Fair, which is basically a wholesale home and gift exhibition for the retail industry. I'd been invited down by the team to take a look at some of the key interior pieces that were set to make their mark on the new season.
It was great for me to not only discover some new labels but to see how interior brands worked on a wholesale basis. It's one of my dreams to one day open an interiors store in the village where I live - I've even found the perfect unit - so it was great to be able to see exactly how the industry works.
I not only discovered some interior gems but I managed to catch a super inspiring talk by Jo Malone MBE. I'm sure Jo needs no introduction, but it was incredibly interesting to learn about her life, how she overcame various obstacles - the main one being being diagnosed with terminal breast cancer at 32, which she fought and is now 11 years cancer free - and why she decided to sell the Jo Malone brand and start all over again with her bath oil and scent business, Jo Loves. For a woman in business, hearing how her entrepreneurial mind and creative process works was worth the trip alone.
Anyway, I wanted to show you some pieces I managed to snap yesterday and hopefully there's something that catches your eye.
