As you might have seen from recent posts, my style - in terms of interiors - is definitely getting more and more feminine. It's like I've given up on a man ever moving into my flat so I'm adding as much pink as possibly feasible. I'm even putting together plans to give my monochrome bedroom a makeover in the next couple of weeks with, you guessed it, all the shades of the pink.
It's been hard to define my interiors style over the last couple of years because when I moved into my place I was very much a Scandi fan, with mid-century furniture and minimalist styling. As time went on I fell in love with the more eclectic feel of the bohemian Californian bungalow vibe you see so much of on Pinterest. And now? I'm all about the classic Chesterfield, marble, gold and luxe textures. I like to define this as modern feminine glamour (this is made up obviously - some interior design boffin will have the right
I wanted to share some inspiration with you so you can see exactly what I mean, and if you scroll down to the bottom I've put together some ideas of pieces to buy to create this look in your own home. The beauty of this decor style is that it works in pretty much any room of the house - just take a look above, the pink Smeg fridge with the chandelier and subway tiles. Everything just seems to work together.
As you can see from the inspiration above, it's fairly easy to achieve this look - you need to mix feminine prints and floral additions with more glamorous pieces such as metalics and statement furniture. I absolutely love this Chesterfield inspired two-seater from Sofa Sofa, but I'd retain a modern edge by adding contrasting cushioned in a variety of luxe fabrics such as velvet and wool-cashmere mix.
Are you a fan of this look? Which is your favourite piece from below? I can't decide between the bargain copper clock or the dalmatian print mugs from H&M.
1. Loft Floral Print Cushion - Marks & Spencer // 2. Copper Clock - George Home // 3. Hydrangea in Marble Vase - Marks & Spencer // 4. Grosvenor 2 Seater Sofa - Sofa Sofa // 5. Large Marble & Copper Candle Holder - Oliver Bonas // 6. Porcelain Mugs - H&M // 7. Munari Table Lamp - Oliver Bonas // 8. Leopard Print Mug - H&M // 9. Boho Pom Pom Cushion - Marks & Spencer // 10. Clear Glass Hexagonal Box - H&M
I can totally relate! I also love monochrome décor but I seem to be going for a lot more glamorous look these days. I think we have a fairly similar style - although you won't find pink in my house.. yet! I think it's ok for your style to develop. We all grow up and your tastes will change too. Otherwise where's the fun in decorating, right? Can't wait to see what your new bedroom will look like :)
ReplyDeleteExactly! :) It's nice to see how our styles develop and I definitely think we've got such a similar taste! Can't wait to get my bedroom sorted and then I'll be showing it off! xx
