15 BEAUTIFUL OUTDOOR DESIGN IDEAS

15 BEAUTIFUL GARDEN DESIGN IDEAS

OK, so September might not be the ideal time to be thinking about redoing your outdoor space but hear me out. When spring arrives next March, do you want to then spend a month of sun time planning and re-doing your garden, when you could actually get it ready before hand to maximise sunbathing time (who am I kidding, when you live in the UK, you've got more chance of moon bathing)? No, I didn't think so. So my suggestion is, you take some time now while it's still mild, to prepare the garden for next year and to start saving for any big purchases you really want to make - i.e. a swinging chair, garden furniture, replacement shed windows, a pool even.

I love the use of textiles outside, so place an outdoor rug in the seating area, some cushions and throws alongside rattan furniture, a footstool and perhaps a swinging love seat. Paint the fences and shed either a bold colour or dark for a seasonal trend, put up fairy lights and candles and add decorative finishes like brass and copper plant pots ready to get out as soon as the frost has thawed.

Even though I adore my little flat, the one thing I've definitely craved this year is outdoor space - so much so I actually put it on my vision board to try and get the universe to conjure up some miracle on my third floor flat Juliette balcony. It wouldn't even need to be a huge space - looking at some of the inspiration below, even the smallest of spaces can look great with styled properly.

Are you looking to make any changes to your garden ready for next spring? I'd definitely recommend thinking about it now so it doesn't seem like such a mammoth task come March.
