HOW TO DECORATE WITH PANTONE'S COLOUR OF THE YEAR, SERENITY

Serenity and Rose Quartz. Two names which seem to be constantly popping up in my email box. If you've been living in a cave for the past couple of months, you won't know that Pantone released two colours of the year, the first being a beautiful pastel blue which they've named Serenity, and a rose-gold pink, called Rose Quartz. 

Now, the latter I can take or leave, but I've absolutely fallen in love with the calmness of Serenity - hence its name no doubt. I couldn't start to imagine how you could use it in room such as the kitchen - to me, it was very much a bedroom colour - but the picture above has made me want to get the paint out and revamp my kitchen units. Teamed with fresh white, this shade weirdly has some warmth to it, making it easier to use in a room which isn't necessarily south facing and full of natural light. 

If you're looking to update your house this year, I'd certainly give Serenity some consideration - as you can see from the pictures below, it can be used in pretty much every room of the house. I mean, how amazing does that stand-alone bath look in white and blue?
