TRENDING: OVERSIZED BLACK AND WHITE WALL ART

When you read as many interior magazines and websites as I do, you start to notice trends pretty quickly. One of those trends popping up on blogs recently has been oversized black and white art work. I'm a huge fan of a statement wall, and boy do these pieces of artwork create a statement.

From the simplicity of text seen above, through to the abstract brush strokes below, black and white definitely has the ability to create an impact. I'm kinda' in love with this image above, it's everything I adore interior wise in one snap - texture, dark walls, super high ceilings, exposed brick work, amazing.

From size A3 upwards, I think you can really make a feature with prints on your wall space, and I think what works so well for these images are the fact that they are predominantly white, with a thin surrounding frame, so they don't create something too overpowering.

Although I've categorised this as a trend, it's actually something that will work in your home season after season. And despite it being suited to a more modern interior style, there are definitely abstract pieces you can buy for a more classic space.

If this is something you plan on adding to your own home, there's only a couple of things I'd say to remember. Keep the frame thin and centralise it in the space it's in - think directly over the sofa, above a console table or in the hallway above a seating bench.

Anyway, here are some of my favourites for you, with links to buy at the bottom. With Christmas coming up, it could be a great addition to someones home for a relatively cheap price - because I'm a total penny pincher, the most expensive piece of statement wall art I've chosen in this edit is £42.61. Enjoy and let me know if oversized black and white wall art is something you'd consider.
