I'm one of those people who will never be truly happy with the clothes they have in their wardrobe. And I think it's because I'm an impulse buyer, especially an impulse buyer of fast fashion, so things go out of fashion quickly, or they're poorly made and don't last all that long. But I think if I had a wardrobe full of classic investment pieces, it would be so much simpler to get up and dressed in the morning, instead of standing and staring into my wardrobe in a huge panic.
With winter definitely here and spreading its cold chill through the air, buying some winter essentials is on the cards. And I've decided that instead of heading to Primark and picking up twenty pieces, I'll invest in a couple of premium, well made and, more importantly, timeless classics.
If you're spending the winter at home in the UK, the most important element when putting your outfit together is the ability to layer, especially with the unpredictable weather we seem to continually experience. I'm absolutely loving chunky roll necks, with jeans and a fitted coat right now. Or peacoats, leather trousers and a fine knit jumper. Or perhaps a black suede skirt, black polo neck and an oversized, slouchy, knitted cardigan. So many options people, so many options.
I was lucky enough to receive a Reiss gift card in my Amara winners goodie bag and after much consideration I've decided to spend it on a winter coat - either this one, or this one. Now, both are way over what I'd usually pay for a coat, but like I said above, I'm really trying to invest my money into higher-end essentials which should last season after season.

Some serious inspo here!
