Before we do anything, let's start with a little catch up of how this week's goals have gone. First of all let me say, YIPEEEEEE! Even though it wasn't an actual goal from this week to go to the gym, I've managed to walk every lunchtime for 20 minutes around the block and go to the gym three times. I know to some people that might not sound like much but it's still much more than what I was doing. Which also means I've managed to lose 2lbs. OK, so my target was 3lbs but I'm still happy that my little weekend-away blubber has disappeared.
I've also looked into Contiki and decided that, although I'm not going to do this exact trip, I am definitely going away somewhere by myself next year. The reason wasn't anything to do with the company, but more the money aspect. But I'm excited about the thought of a solo trip. I think New York. Actually I know New York, but I just have to work out my finances very, very carefully. If you've not come across a blogger called Scarphelia before then I'd check her out - she's a girl who upped and left her life in the UK and went to work and live in NYC for the summer. It's just a really inspirational read.
And whilst we're talking about reading, I've made a good effort to sit down with my book this week and try finish it - I've only got one chapter left so I think I'm going to settle down tonight, get that finished and then I can start my I Heart New York book for the fifth time. Plus, I've actually really enjoyed getting back into reading again.
So here's on to week #4....
Clean and Make Up
One of my many life admin tasks that I keep putting off is clearing out my makeup drawer and organising everything into proper storage boxes. I have so many unused lipsticks and eyeshadows, as well as a huge amount of nail polishes lying around in my spare room, most going gloopy never to be used again. I've had the same makeup routine since I was 15 so who knows, I might even experiment with a little, wait for it...pink instead of nude lip. Revolutionary I know. I always admire these beauty bloggers who have hoards of makeup all organised neatly into clear muji containers - I, on the other hand, have piles of crap thrown in a drawer with more crap piled on top of that, and eye pencil sharpenings sprinkled over the top to finish it off. I better get on eBay and get me some clear boxes - if I'm going to do it, I'm going to make it Instagramable.
Enough of the Procrastination
You know when you have a big job on at work and you'll do everything else there is possibly left to do before you start said task? Well, that's the dilemma I find myself in this week. I'm so bad when it comes to procrastination. If I know I have something difficult to sort out, I'll potter around trying to keep myself busy right until the point of, shit, right we need to get this sorted NOW. I read that you're suppose to check your emails first thing, then turn them off till before lunch. That way your mind won't be distracted and you can tackle the tougher jobs first thing when your brain is at its peak. Then in the afternoon when we're more likely to slop off into a PM slumber, you can sort through the more menial tasks and answer your emails. I'm going to try this tomorrow and see how I get on.
Snap More
I used to take so many pictures on my phone but then one day, I just stopped. I don't really know why. But I want to start snapping more so I can look back and see the memories of 2015. How am I ever going to put a yearly round-up post together when I haven't got anything to show of July, August or September? And I don't just mean selfies silly, I mean the gorgeous pink flowers that I pass every single morning before work when noones around but me and the milk man. Or the old mills by the canal on my lunch time walk. I actually think I'm going to do a blog post one day this week where I snap something for every hour I'm awake - should make a good read right? I mean, I can't say that the 6.30am photo will be a pretty one but still...
It's almost as if, because I'm writing these down for you guys to read, I don't want to let myself down by not following through with them. If I hadn't have made finishing my book a goal for this last week, I wouldn't have pushed myself to go to bed that little bit earlier to get the final chapters read. It sounds daft but this little series has just really helped me get some stability back into my life after a fair few months where I felt disjointed from a lot of things, had no routine and let my to-do list grow until it sent my mind slightly mental.
Give it a go and set yourself three goals this week and see how you get on. They can be as big or as small as you want, but just try it.

Really enjoy reading your Monday Goals post. I used to have a weekly goals agenda myself when I realised I was trying to do too much all at once. I've sort of lost the habit of this and am in the situation again where I am over whelmed with everything I need to sort out. Hopefully this should be the push I need.
