I'm always looking for home decor inspiration, despite not having my own place just yet, and creating a great office space to blog and design my prints in is one of the first things I'll be doing when I do finally move out.
This picture caught my eye recently on Pinterest, with its simple layout and black and gold colour palette - as you can see from my blog design the black and gold combination is definitely something I'm loving at the minute.
What I like about this work space is that its small enough to have in a spare room, or spare corner even, but has enough impact visually. The white glossy desk is something I'll be buying for myself and although I'm not overly keen on what looks to be a wicker chair, I've picked an alternative which you'll see below.
Collecting books is something I seem to be doing much more of since I've reach over the age of 25 and would much rather spend my money on a great coffee table book as opposed to an expensive beauty product or overpriced piece of jewellery. This innovative way to stack books is easily translatable with a little help from stylish Ikea shelving and three prints hung together creates a focal point on the wall - plus, it gives you something lovely to look at while you're beaving away working.
Below you'll see I've picked some of my favourite pieces from the web to create a similar look. The Missoni pouf is probably my favourite item, although the owl pencil pot from Anthropologie and the Be Brave gold print are without doubt on my shopping list when I start decorating.
1.Fluted Table Lamp - Not on the High Street £132 2. Kew Pouf - Missoni £306 3. 50 Fashion Designers You Should Know - Amazon £9.65 4. White Hydrangea - Next £30 5. Gold Tealight Holder - Tesco £3.47 6. White Desk - Asda Living £99.99 7. Be Brave Gold Print - Charm and Gumption £6.85 8. Wooden Vase - Homebase £7.93 9. Sleepy Hollow Owl Pencil Cup - Anthropologie £14.99 10. Gold Transparent Chair - Fusion Homewear £78
Thanks so much for featuring my "Be Brave" print! I love your roundup of black and gold goodies!
