HOW TO CREATE A CAPSULE 12-PIECE HOLIDAY WARDROBE

It's been a while since I've written a little fashion post, so with the sun making an appearance for all of 30 minutes yesterday, I figured I'd put together a little how-to post. I'm a huge fan of a capsule wardrobe, especially when travelling, so what better post than how to create a capsule 12-piece holiday wardrobe.

Everything here is from Anthropologie - not because this post is sponsored by them, but because when these images dropped into my inbox, I fell in love with pretty much everything the store has to offer for SS17. With 12 pieces in total, I decided to create 8 different looks to show you just how versatile each garment is, but also how accessories can completely change up your look. I remember following a blogger years ago - I wish I could remember her name - who mixed and matched 12 pieces of clothing for a whole month, creating a different look each and every day. I think it was then my love for a capsule closet really went up a notch.

Just to make it easier, I've linked every piece underneath each look and explained just how I'd throw it together.

Pool Bar

This is an easy look, with the swimsuit acting as a plunge neckline top when worn under denim shorts. The necklace, meanwhile, adds another pop of colour and turns this from a day outfit to a more night time appropriate #ootd.

Fancy Restaurant

Nothing brightens up a relaxed jumpsuit like a heavily beaded clutch. I love the tones in this look and could imagine a pop of pink lip and beach waves.

Relaxing by the Pool

A really simple outfit choice, this amazing polka dot one-piece and statement sunnies are all your need for a relaxing day by the pool. Throw over your sheer white lace coverup to walk and grab your next cocktail.

Shopping

We all obviously like to have a good shop while we're away on holiday, whether it's for presents, or like me, trying to find hidden treasures to add to your home. This sheer top, denim shorts and tote bag are the perfect combination for a mornings shopping before the sun reaches its peak.

Hitting The Bars

I'm absolutely in love with this jumpsuit, especially the a-line ruffle detailing, so I decided to keep the colours bold and add some turquoise statement earrings. Add your white cover-up for chillier evenings.

Pool Party

OK, so maybe at 32 I'm not hitting any pool parties soon, but there might be a day where you want to look a little more glam by the pool. This is your outfit. Just add mules with a little heel to elongate your legs and throw over your orange sheer shirt. If you needed a bag for the day, add your pink beaded clutch as shown before.

Lunch Out

You can't go wrong with a jumpsuit for a lunch out, but just by adding this turquoise necklace and sheer top, you've created more of a two piece perfect for a nice lunch out somewhere in the local town.

Sightseeing

The final look of my summer capsule wardrobe is a relaxed sightseeing outfit. The swimsuit under the shorts acts as a top and by throwing your white coverup over, it makes it a slightly more modest choice if you're wondering around ancient ruins or other historic places.

I literally can't tell you how much I enjoyed putting this post together for you. Even though I love interiors, I do miss writing about fashion now and again so expect a few more posts to pop up in your feed the odd week.

I'd love to know whether you're a fan of a capsule wardrobe or whether you're just too indecisive and end up taking everything you own on holiday. I just need to book myself a little holiday to try this whole capsule wardrobe thang out now.
