ADDING SOME COLOUR TO MY HOME WITH ANTHROPOLOGIE

We all know around here what a fan of Anthropologie I am right? When the rumours started to spread about a store opening in Leeds, I was hot on the scent, tweeting them personally to ask if my dreams were about to come true. And thank you Jesus, the brand opened its polish brass doors in the new Victoria Gate complex alongside John Lewis and &OtherStories late last year.

Much like your first love, I think everyone remembers their first visit to Anthropologie. Mine was on Kings Road in Chelsea, and I remember walking in and falling in love with pretty much everything they stocked, from embroidered dresses to egg cups. The fabrics, the colours, the prints. If a shop summed up the inside of my head, then Anthropologie was just that.

With summer just around the corner I knew I wanted to update my space with some colour, so when Anthropologie reached out to see how I could style some of their latest SS17 offering in my own home, I kinda' bit their hand off.

One thing Anthropologie does brilliantly is eclectic and vibrant home decor. It doesn't even need to be a bold cushion, or a dense floral rug - there are so many small but equally amazing pieces of home decor you can pick up for yourself, or as a potential gift. Take this gorgeous Bon Ami Bottle Opener, made from turquoise resin and brass. It's the perfect addition to my bar cart, ready for when I invite everyone around for summer drinks when I'm planning on next month.

Next up I wanted to add some colour to my monochrome bedroom and having fallen in love with this pink, coral and cream woven All Roads Sunset duvet cover when it first came out, I knew I had to add this to my boudoir. Boy this is heavy. Like really heavy. But that just goes to show the quality of it, and for £208, it needs to be really decent. With the addition of some new cushions and simplifying my bedside table a little (do I really need 54 hand creams and lip balms out on display?) the space feels much more colourful and feminine.

Seen as I'm trying to read a lot more before I go to bed instead of being on my laptop or phone the whole night, this gold banana leaf bookmark is absolutely perfect for catching those pages before I slip off into the land of nod. Plus it looks so Instagrammable sitting on the side of my bedside table. Don't judge me. I like a prop or three.

OK, so not to the most obvious of buys to brighten up my space but I couldn't resist these gold geometric scissors. You heard me above, I love a good flatlay prop so these really have a dual use - which means even more reason to choose them.

Now, if you were to hold a gun to my head and make me name my favourite section of Anthropologie - because, let's face it, there's always a chance that could happen with some big Anthro fans around - I'd have to say their crockery and tableware. From napkins to serving dishes, everything just feels incredible quality and makes such a statement with your table setting.

I decide to add a little colour to my rustic picnic table cloth with floral printed melamine plates, perfect for outside BBQ's, contrasting napkins to really get that bohemian flare lit, a gold Sophia serving set that looks too pretty to be hid away in the drawer and finally a beautiful Mimira small platter, perfect for breads or Italian meats.

I just love the contrast of these prints, which work especially well with gold cutlery and my gold pepper grinder. My home looks all set for the warmer months now it's been injected with some colour, and yet again Anthropologie doesn't disappoint.

If you're local to Leeds, or you're planning a city break soon, then definitely head to the new Victoria Gate store and be prepared to flex your card. Finally, a huge thanks to the brand for collaborating with me on this post and as always, I'd love to know if anything here caught your eye or if you're a fan of Anthropologie like me.
