What's this, another day another food-based post? I'm really trying to add some variety into my blog at the moment, so I thought what better way to do that than by capturing my Sunday brunch at House of Koko. If you live in Leeds, then you might already be familiar with House of Koko, but if you're not then this cool little independent eatery is in Chapel Allerton, a gorgeous suburb on the outskirts of the city centre.
Myself and fellow blogger Remie wanted to grab something to eat and have a catch up last week and after a little Instragram stalking, Remie discovered this perfectly little brunch spot. As soon as I walked in, I could see so many potential Instagram moments - such a blogging thing to say, but aesthetics are pleasing to me. I could also see amazing dishes being served all around me and without really needing to look at the menu, I ordered the berries and maple syrup pancakes and a large hot chocolate. Slimming World kinda' went out of the window for the morning.
The pancakes were just the right amount of classic buttermilk fluffiness and the hot chocolate tasted basically like melted Lindt. Remie followed suit and ordered the Nutella pancakes, which looked (and tasted apparently) amazing.
There was a real mixture of dishes on offer from sweetcorn fritters to avocado on sourdough toast, but everything is pretty much good wholesome fresh food. There's also a mix of local produce on offer to the back of the store, which is a great to support local artisans and companies.

We were lucky to get a table for two at 11am on a Sunday, so just be warned, either get there early or be prepared to queue and wait. There were three sets of people queuing to be seated as we were eating which just goes to show how popular this place is. If pancakes and hot chocolate are your thing, then give House of Koko a try next time you're in the area.
Looks like such a cute spot for breakfast! Yes I'm all about places that are Instagram worthy too ;)
